Here at St.Charles Wellness Center, we offer two HIV prevention treatments and they are as follows:
Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP)
These are antiretroviral (ARV) drugs that can be taken daily to prevent HIV.
Post-exposure Prophylaxis (PEP)
These are antiretroviral (ART) medicines that can be taken after being potentially exposed to HIV to prevent infection. This should only be used in emergencies and must be started 72 hours after recent exposure.
